Homemade dog Biscuits

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

I have been searching, browsing the net for homemade biscuits and I finally found one.
My dogs suffered allergies each time I give them treats, biscuits which I bought from
the pet shop. Even though the label says no chicken, natural flavours etc… but my dog
still have problem with their skin until they have to go through antibiotics every time.

Today, I found this video and I want to bake this biscuits and share with everybody who
have the same problem like me. I came up with my own recipe and here it is:

Dog Best Friend Biscuits
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or potato flour or rice flour
1 teaspoon brown sugar or honey
1/2 cup powdered milk
6 tablespoons butter
1 egg beat it
1/2 cup water

Combine the flour, milk and sugar. Cute butter until mixture resembles cornmeal. Mix in egg then add enough water to make a ball. Then form them in any shapes you like. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven, let it cool down and they are ready for our prince and princess at home.

Clicker Training

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

We received a gift from Xiao Xiao’s human sister who is a great trainer using clicker.
Initailly, we tried the clicker by just clicking when they do their usual sit, down etc…
but we find that is
not working. It is like they already knew the tricks and why this clicking….

Later, we received instruction from Xiao Xiao’s human sister on how to introduce
the clicker the first time to our shih tzus. This is how we did it and it works.

1. Get them to understand clicker = to treats.
Once they are understand this formula, start introducing new tricks using clicker.

2. Guide them to do tricks and when they do it, click and treat. Repeat many times.

3. Now we can guide them new tricks very easily and they learn very fast.
