Homemade Food for your Dog
Every dog is unique and each has their own special needs, likes, dislike, and just like humans they have specific nutritional requirements too. The thing with good food is that it is expensive; why not try making homemade food for your dog. It is cheap and fresh without any chemicals or artificial. You can feed your dog with fresh chicken, turkey, beef or fish. Dogs do take raw vegetables, certain fruits, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs and brown rice. Homemade diet is best for dogs, but do remember that you need to consult your veterinarian on what is the best homemade food from them as certain canines have definite nutritional requirements. Never feed your dog bones, especially cooked bones. Studies showed that the fragments can become lodged in the digestive tract and other food which you need to avoid from giving your dog are chocolates, mushrooms, nuts, grapes, onions and garlic.
Dogs need a balance diet of 40 percent meat, about 30 percent vegetables and 30 percent starch. You can also try mixture food for your dog such as rice, carrot and ground turkey or brown rice with beef, potatoes and vegetables. Try rotating the foods so that they won’t get bored of it and at the same time they get a variety of food. You can cook and keep your dog’s food in the refrigerator for not longer than 3 days.
