Short Trim For Shih Tzu - Pt 2

This is part 2 of three by spanielmom93, in this video she will show you how to clip the body of any dog really but this happens to be a Shih Tzu and they are done the same way as all other all over hair cuts.

Spanielmon93 is a professional groomer and these are questions asked by her clients :

Q : What size blade do you use? #10? #40? do you ever use a comb attachment?

A : On her body I used a #5 blade. I would never take the body any shorter then a #10. On face and sanitary area’s I would only use a #10or15. If your dog is really matted I suggest a #7 or 10 depending on how matted. Yes I do use snap on combs but they snap on over my regular #10/15blade. I can only use combs when the dog is not matted.

Q : TY for this great video, is going to help me a lot. I have a Lhasa Apso and is kind of grumpy median size dog (15 pounds). Do you think it is fine he take breaks… or is better I finish soon the grooming… I dont want he can feel I am tense doing this job. :)

A : I would try to do the things he doesn’t mind first then give him a break and then at the end tackle the things he really doesn’t like then when you are done give lots of praise and treats. ;) Good luck and let me know how it goes! ;)
